Featured Interview With Sarah Robinson Author Of Sand & Clay And Tainted Bodies
My name is Sarah
Robinson and I am the author of two books- Sand & Clay and Tainted Bodies
which are both available on Amazon Kindle and paperback! I have a Masters Degree in criminal
psychology and have loved writing for over 15 years now. I am married to a wonderful police officer
and live in Northern Virginia with our zoo of dogs, kitties, and turtles. I am new to the Indie scene and excited to
get to know my fans on a more personal level!
How did you
become a writer, and did you always want to write?
I started writing as
an emotional outlet when I was a preteen, mostly poetry. I then fell in love with it and wrote poetry
for over a decade, being published multiple times and winning multiple
competitions. However, I began to branch
out into prose and longer stories and started writing some short stories for a
publisher for a little extra cash. She
suggested I think about writing a full length book and I decided to go for it-
that’s how Sand & Clay came out! It
reached Amazons Hot 100 list in it’s first month.
How do you hope
your readers react to the stories you write?
Sand & Clay is a
light read, a cute love story, and so all I want is for people to feel those
emotions. I want them to feel anguish,
love, heartache, and head over heels passion for the characters! Tainted Bodies is a completely different
story! It’s a crime drama romance and
it’s topic is quite touchy...it could upset a lot of people potentially but
that’s why I wrote it. It takes a very
real look at a very prolific problem in our society and how a woman has to
overcome that struggle and find her way back.
It will really become clearer and stronger when the second book comes
out since the first book leaves a lot to still be revealed!
What responses
to your writing have affected you the most and why?
I got one really cruel
review of Sand & Clay that really stuck with me because no one else seemed
to have that same reaction. I think that
the reason it stuck with me was that it was a reminder that not everyone is
going to like what I write...as much as I wish they would. It also is a good lesson for people that the
internet may seem anonymous but authors read your reviews and just bashing a
book with no helpful critiques, well that is just not right in my opinion.
Other than
writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?
Just to be happy! I want to be a good full time author one day
but I also just want to live a happy life! I want to have kids, rescue more
pets, give money and time to charities, make a family, fall in love with my
husband every day, and never miss an opportunity to make a mistake! I want to take life and squeeze every drop of
love and excitement out of it and then teach my children to do the same.
What do you like
to do in your spare time?
I love animals so I
spend a lot of time working with rescue organizations, spending time with my
pets, walking neighbour’s dogs, etc. I
also am obsessed with Ellen Degeneres and never miss her show every
weekday! I love spending time with my
husband curled up on the couch watching the latest and greatest television
shows. Nothing out of the ordinary, just
being your average girl!
Sand & Clay:
Young New York
socialite Caroline falls for a rock star bad boy Logan Clay, he's bad for her
and she's bad for him (he has a fiancée after all).
Against all reason
and sanity, they know they belong together, but how can they make it work when
time and fate seem to be completely against them?
She was ready for love
when he wasn't, but she moves on only to find that real love can't be replaced.
Happy endings might not be for everyone...
Tainted Bodies:
Kate Jackson is
listlessly floating through her life having no idea what or who she wants to be
and burdened by the pains of her past. That is until she meets Derrick Kane.
A whirlwind romance
leads Kate to believe that Derrick is the answer to all her questions and the
patch to heal all her wounds.
Derrick and Kate’s
love is quickly tested as a shocking crime forces Kate to have to figure out
how to take care of herself and leads her into a mystery that only Kate has the
key to solve.
Can she catch an
extremely dangerous criminal and keep the love between Derrick and her alive?
Find out the conclusion of this thrilling crime drama and contemporary romance
in the following books of The Photographer Trilogy.
What stories
can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?
I am currently working
on the second book in The Photographer Trilogy which will follow up Tainted
Bodies and answer a lot of holes in the first book. It is full of drama and twists and turns! It’s exciting! I can’t wait to release it!
What would you
like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?
Just thank you- thank
you to everyone! I’m not rich or famous
and probably never will be, and a good review on Amazon is enough to make me
float on a cloud all day! I live a
simple life in a small apartment and I barely make it paycheck to paycheck-
which is why I love writing so much because the potential and dreams are
exponential. My fans make me what I am
and they mean the world to me! Thank you
for your continued support!
Do you have any
parting words?
In the words of Ellen
Degeneres- be kind to others!

Excerpt From Tainted Bodies by Sarah Robinson
Excerpt:
Kate Jackson stepped onto the metro car around 8am, heading for work in her usual morning routine on a crispThursday morning. She had been working in a sales position for a large company that sold office furniture to companies all over the country for quite some time even though it was unrelated to what she had gone to school for. She had graduated in the top ten percent of her class from the University of Maryland with a psychology degree, so sales was not her dream job, but at least it was a job.
The metro car roughly slammed from side to side as Kate held onto the railing above her and tried not to fall on the people around her. It was not proving to be the simplest task.
Probably not the best day to have worn these heels, she thought, as she warily watched the homeless man behind her eyeing her rear end. Finally, the operator announced her stop and Kate fought her way for the doors before they closed, as everyone else on the car seemed to be doing the same thing in fifteen different directions. Squeezing through, she slid past the crowd and snaked her way to the escalators, then up and out of the ground, onto the street.
She never looked forward to going to work in the mornings even though she appreciated the pay check. The tough economy had made the job market cut throat and Kate felt lucky to at least have found anything to pay her bills. She had been gifted the job from a friend of her late father, who pitied her situation and owned the company. Lenny had become a great father figure for her and her sister since their father had passed away and had helped them out of many difficult situations over the years.
Sighing with relief, Kate spotted her favorite hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, and looking at her watch, she decided to reward herself for her timing by stopping in for a tall vanilla latte. She opened the door to be greeted by the delicious smell of coffee beans and her favorite smiling barista. The Java Jolt was a morning must-have for her and she felt her spirit lifting every time she walked through those front doors.
“Miss Kate, good to see you this morning, would you like your usual?” asked Jimmy, a high-school student whose favorite days at work were the days that Kate comes in.
Kate was always surprised at the attention she received from men regarding her looks. At five foot six inches, she wasn’t particularly tall. She was far from stick thin, instead probably a few pounds over what she should be. She had dark brown, curly hair that hung all the way down her back and jumped about in any way it pleased, regardless of what she wanted.
Her pale skin contrasted her dark, piercing brown eyes, brunette hair color, and ruby red lips causing an almost doll-like look to her. She dressed simply but professionally, going for comfort more than glamour, if you didn’t count her high heel shoes. But even with her striking features, Kate often thought of herself as plain, which made her oblivious to the hints and attempts at flirting from the young barista.
“Thank you, Jimmy, yes please.” Kate smiles at him.
“ Jimmy, add a large brewed coffee, two creams, and one sugar to that vanilla latte order,” said a deep voice behind her.
Kate whirled around to see the face that belonged to that deep voice and was struck by the tall, handsome grin staring back at her.
“Excuse me? Do I know you?” Kate asked, defiantly, stomping her foot on the ground in an attempt to look more confident.
“Well you should, if you are planning on buying me a drink, or do you just make a habit of buying strange men their coffee?” The tall man jokingly smiled at her.
Jimmy, awkwardly paused with the two empty cups in his hands, waiting for Kate’s approval before he made the drinks. Kate couldn’t decide whether she was furious at how rude this gentleman was or whether she was charmed by his initiative. Kate finally smiled slightly and nodded her consent, so Jimmy set about making the two drinks while watching out of the corner of his eyes at the interaction between the two jealously.
“I’m Kate, Kate Jackson,” she said, extending her hand to him.
“Derrick Kane.” His hand strongly grasped hers and his dark brown eyes pierced into hers, smiling at her with a wide, boyish grin that made her heart beat a little faster. He was definitely over six feet tall with the broadest shoulders that she had ever seen and the muscles on his arms could barely be contained in his collared blue shirt. An expensive black belt neatly held up his slacks while his shoes were recently polished and ready for work. His bright eyes seemed to glow against his dark, black skin as he smiled down at her. Jimmy, awkwardly coughed to interrupt their gaze, handing Kate her latte.
“Thanks, Jimmy.” Kate handed him some change to pay for the two coffees.
“Sure, Miss Kate, it’s no problem. Anytime.” Jimmy said, beaming at her, as he stood there waiting, hoping to continue the conversation. Kate just turned around, accidentally ignoring him.
“Hey, buddy, the coffee?” Derrick reminded the barista. Jimmy glared at him, annoyed, then handed him his coffee.
“Here you go, sir. One brewed coffee, three creams, two sugar.” Jimmy said bitterly to the man who he felt was stealing his crush.
“Uh, actually, that was supposed to be two creams, one sugar…” Derrick awkwardly said while Jimmy gave him a look that could kill.
“You know what, that’s fine, I like it better this way, anyways. Good call.” Derrick grinned and brushed it off while he took a big chug of his coffee to prove his point. Kate, watching this whole interaction, started laughing which only made Jimmy more bitter as he stormed away from the counter into the back of the coffee shop through a swinging door.
“I don’t think he is my number one fan.” Derrick said to Kate, grinning.
“I think you are right about that. How’s the coffee?” Kate said, chuckling as Derrick held the door and they exited the coffee shop.
“Sweet. Really sweet.” Derrick twisted his face to show his disgust, which caused Kate to laugh again.

Release Day Blitz For Cant Go Without By Angelisa Stone
Book Title: Can't Go Without (Oasis Waterfall, #2)
Author: Angelisa Stone
Genre: Contemporary New Adult Romance
Release Date: March 1, 2014
Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions
“What’s the one thing you can’t go without?”
Tristan O'Donnell has money, women, and all the luxuries that cold hard cash can buy. Tristan's been sucking sunshine right from the monogrammed silver spoon his life was served up on since the day he was born. And quite frankly, he wouldn't want it any other way. He's his mother's pride and joy, his father's right-hand-man, and the envy of every guy around. All Tristan has to do is flash his million dollar smile, give his trademark wink, and he gets what he wants, when he wants, anytime he wants.
Leah Franchetti grinds her fingers to the bone; sculpting, painting, recreating treasures from trash—the very sentiment that defines her life. Her inventive, vindictive, lucrative, and seemingly unforgivable plan allowed her to shortcut her way into the life she always imagined, owning an art gallery, surrounding herself in the comfort of her passion and dreams.
When circumstances force Leah and Tristan to come face-to-face with the past and with Leah’s devious manipulation, truths come flooding forth, destroying those in the present and possibly jeopardizing both of their highly anticipated futures.
Can Tristan overcome Leah’s slander and deception—despite how dangerously close he comes to losing the one thing he can’t go without—money? Will Leah be forced to come clean, knowing she’ll have to live her life with the one thing she can’t go without—her dignity?
Rushing out of Chet O’Donnell’s office, angrily and haughtily, I face-plant straight into a strong, hard chest, covered in a wool, cable-knit sweater, smelling of expensive cologne. People always say that the sense of smell is the most powerful sense, triggering memories and feelings clearer than any of the other four senses combined. Just one smell, one inhalation of that warm, sexy designer cologne and my insides burn, ignite with intense desire and longing. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. No. No. No. “I’m…I’m…I’m…” I stammer, backing up, dropping my head, and looking straight at the ground in humiliation. “I’m…I gotta go,” I mumble, sidestepping out of his way, and heading straight for the elevator. I push the button repeatedly, knowing damn well my actions won’t speed up the elevator’s arrival. Tristan runs to catch me, just as I eye the stairwell and bolt for the door. “Leah! Wait!” he yells; the “wait” is muffled by the sound of the door slamming behind me. I run down only one flight of steps and escape onto the twentieth floor, knowing that Tristan O’Donnell would chase me the entire way down the stairs—if seeing and talking to me were his goals. Tristan O’Donnell always gets what he wants. Always. Hoping that Tristan doesn’t check the video monitors, I walk down the hallway to the other set of stairs and down to the first floor, exiting O’Donnell Industries. Once I hit the street, the winter sun reflecting off the snow burns my eyes. I squint at the pain of the brightness, knowing the sting of my tears has nothing to do with the shining, searing light.
