Tell us a little about yourself.

I live in Maryland.  I'm married and have a one year old son.  I love flamingos, baseball, reading, and listening to music.  I also love going out with friends.


How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write

I've always written.  I could always express myself easier by writing down my thoughts than speaking them.  I stumbled upon this adventure by having the same dream over and over again for a week. I wrote it down and out popped a story and characters.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write

I would hope that readers would live the stories and share them with their friends.  I do this not for the money, but to put a smile on someone's face.  That's the best reward.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why

Both the negative and positive responses have affected me.  But when I get a negative response I don't react to it.  I take those with a grain of salt.  I know that I'm not the best, but I'm pretty good.  I have a great support group behind me and that's all that matters.

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life

I want to be a good mother to my son and a good wife to my husband.  I don't have any other real goals than that right now.  I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I want to be able to say that I lived without any regrets.

What do you like to do in your spare time
  

In my spare time I like to read and hang out with friends.  I also like to catch up on my DVR.

What can you tell us about your latest works

I always have something going on.  I'm filling out this interview while writing my third book in my Muse Inspired Series.  I have another romance book in the works which is the first story that I've ever written for public viewing that I'm sure I'll be working on when this interview becomes live.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead

I will hopefully have two separate series out and some other stand alones on the back burners.  Inspiration is everywhere if you know where to find it.

What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide

Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in a loving house in Kansas. I’ve been married for almost 19 years and we have two sons, 15 & almost 18. Our house is mainly run by two fur babies, Mocha and Shadow, both cocker spaniels and are a year apart in age and are actually half-brother/sister, same father, different mother. J We are looking into getting a German shepherd puppy (male), waiting for our breeder to tell us if their dogs pregnancy took. This will be our 3^rd German shepherd we’ve had.

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

Actually, I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer. I just enjoy reading romance and paranormal/romance books. I wasn’t even an avid reader until a few years ago. But, I had this reoccurring dream for several months and one day I just decided to put it on a word document, a month after that, I published it. Now, like reading, I’m totally addicted to writing.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

My hope is, like they do when I write them, they take readers away for a bit, to another time and place, envision the characters, feel them and of course I always hope they love them as much as I love to write them.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

When I receive messages, or being at an author event, and having people tell me how much they enjoy my books, that they love them or they related to them, affected them, not only fills my heart but also is so surreal and is so humbling. To know I wrote something that really touched someone or that someone loved my stories is just indescribable. 

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

Really, to life a happy life with my family, watch and help my boys grow into fine men and hopefully travel some more, attending events.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Ha, well, I don’t seem to have much spare time anymore. In between writing I attend events. But, I enjoy watching football, mainly my team here, spending time with my family and fur babies and hope we get to go on more vacations soon.

What can you tell us about your latest works?

I have so many stories I’m either writing or have in my head to write. I actually have 3 new series gong. By the time this is posted, The Loss (Heartache series #1) will have released on October 20^th. I have been writing on the first in another new series, Country Heaven (Country Love series #1) and that will be done by the time this is posted as well. I have yet another series I’ve started, Beyond Love series, and it’s for my publisher that I recently signed with. Entertwine Publishing. I also have other stories written down as well. As you can see, I stay very busy, but, my mind will just not stop.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

The Loss (Heartache series #1) is released as of October 20^th. I do not expect any other books to be released until after the new year however, I am planning on releasing Country Heaven (Country Love series #1), early in January, 2015. I cannot give dates on any of the others but, I expect to release a book every other month, or as soon as I can.

What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand 

and others worldwide?

Hi, New Zealand and everyone out there! Thank you for reading my stories and I hope they touch you in some way or take you away for awhile, getting lost in them and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy writing them. I will always write because it is my passion but they don’t mean as much if I don’t have you to enjoy them.

Hi Christine it is nice to have you here today

Tell us a little about yourself.

Sure, my name is C.D. Gorri, I’m 36 years old. I have a BA from Montclair State University. I have been married to my best friend and soul mate for 10 years. We have three children and a dog. We live in my home state of New Jersey, which I love actually.

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I have always wanted to be a writer. It has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I love to read. Always have. I read a lot of different genres, fiction and nonfiction.

Once all of my children were of school age I found myself with a few spare moments to actually write. That’s probably half a truth as most moms will tell you. There is never any spare time really. I guess that’s what it means to write though. You know what I mean. I guess sometimes I let the dishes go longer than normal and the laundry may sit in the dryer an hour or so here and there, and I may not leave the desk for hours at a time, but it’s worth it to me.

I guess I just love storytelling. It serves so many purposes. People tell stories to preserve history, to carry on tradition, to express emotion, to explore imagination, to delve into places no one ever has, to teach, to explain, to entertain, the list is endless. Writing provides endless possibility and fulfillment for me in ways I never imagined. It’s my therapy, my calling, my passion.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

I hope when someone reads my stories that they are engaged and entertained. I hope that they can have a few moments of escape from reality, and maybe they’ll pick up on something that sparks their interest. I’m a big fan of anything that gets people to react, to feel, to think. It would be amazing if I did that for someone else. Even if it’s just one person.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

I can remember the first few days of setting up my Facebook fan page. I was a serious newbie and may or may not have left some posts asking people to give my first ebook a shot and providing a coupon code and what not. I will admit one or two admins were annoyed as I did not at the time realize there was a whole share for share thing out there. Anyway, during that whole fiasco I’m thinking, crap, I’m an idiot, I’ve made huge mistake. Then I received a message from a young woman who said some very kind things to me. She saw my posts and downloaded the book for free and read it. Not only that, but she liked it!

I was completely shocked. You know, happy, thrilled, excited. All because this stranger told me my writing meant something to her. I had provided entertainment to that one person. I knew then that I didn’t make a mistake. I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. It’s a heady feeling.

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

Of course my family’s happiness, health and security are first for me. Writing is next. Other than that I want to read, learn new things, and spend my golden years travelling with my hubby (BTW I still have a way to go on that last one).

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I’d like to have some spare time. LOL. Seriously though, I guess I like walking, swimming, reading, gardening (unfortunately for the plants), crafting, cooking, and playing with my kids.

What can you tell us about your latest works?

I am working on my Grazi Kelly Novel series. Both Wolf Moon and Hunter Moon have been released in 2014. The third instalment Rebel Moon is the next piece in the series. I’m very excited by this series as I believe I have taken Werewolves someplace you don’t really see in a lot of mainstream literature. Grazi is a young girl, she is a Werewolf, she is the chosen one, the warrior/heroine and she’s just so cool. She is bound to serve the Hounds of God. They are this group of Wolves who work for the Roman Catholic Church and basically fight evil to save the world. Grazi is going to bridge the gap between old-world Church and new-world unity. She will break down barriers and bring together all of the Supernaturals in this fight for the world against evil.

Anyone who enjoys YA paranormal lit should give her a chance.

I drew on a lot of my childhood and teen years as a student in parochial schools for the background story. It is a series for anyone and everyone who enjoys supernatural tales with a bit of spunky teen girl thrown in.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

Hunter Moon is being released August 2014. I am currently working on Rebel Moon. That is the title for the third instalment in the Grazi Kelly Novel series. You can expect to see a lot more from the bad guys. I’m talking witches, vamps, puppets, and demons! Spooky stuff.


What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. My grandmother (Mamo) cultivated my love of the written word. She taught me to read simple phrases when I was three, and from then on, I could almost always be caught behind the pages of a book. I began to write stories when I was seven years old, writing short stories and poems. I loved that every time I picked up a pen it was a new adventure.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

I hope they can feel the emotion and the suspense in the story. I hope they learn to care for the characters and feel invested in the journey ahead.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

I received this ARC for an honest review.
I was hooked to the character of Tristan Morrow immediately. This character is a fifteen year old girl that lives with her brothers, father, aunt and uncle and cousin in a beautiful home on the farm in Pennsylvania. She is strong willed and very intelligent. Her best friend is the boy she and her brothers have grown up with, Cole Piedmonte and he has recently become her boyfriend. Her father has raised the children with the help of his sister and her husband since Tristan’s mother disappeared after her birth. She attends Steeplechase Academy with her brothers and cousin in which they all have an English class together taught by Mr. Kendricks. Mr. Kendricks is a creepy and nasty character. As the story progresses he becomes completely evil. The way the characters’ lives are connected is absolutely beautiful and weaves together seamlessly. There is much intrigue and suspense throughout the book. The story is a prime example of family and unconditional love for one another. I was so engrossed in this book and wanting to know what was about to happen next I lost track of time. Addison Kline has written a fantastic book. I was impressed with the way the story laced the past and the present and kept the plot moving. I LOVED this book. Absolutely one of my top picks for the year!

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

I want to travel both domestic and international. I love to learn new things and enjoy new experiences with my family.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a Mom of three boys, a wife, an author and I work full time. What spare time?! In all seriousness, I love to listen to music, watch movies, write (obviously LOL), travel (road trips are the best!), and read.

What can you tell us about your latest works?

Black Horse is a forbidden romance novel that is full of romance, suspense, action, crime and comedy. We have a scorching hot leading man, Colt McClain, a tough as nails leading lady, Averi Ford, and a vindictive and seriously psychopathic bad guy, Black Horse himself, who also happens to be Colt's dad.

I followed Black Horse up with Broken Road. In the wake of Black Horse's death, Colt's half brother has stepped up to run the dangerous and sadistic Seventy Devils MC. One problem, Jimmy is obsessed with Averi and will not stop until he has taken his brother's wife as his own. Talk about family problems! This is an action packed novel, even moreso than Black Horse, with several minor characters stepping into the spotlight.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

Shadow Dancer is a mystery/suspense novel which released September 12, 2014. Shattered Chances is a stand-alone companion novel to the Breaking Black series which focuses on my lovable but crazy character Randy and his journey with long time love, Cheyenne. On Thanksgiving, I am re-launching Down To You, completely revamped with a new cover. This is a holiday redemption romance, and I have a real soft spot for this story. Then on December 19^th, the final book of the Breaking Black series will launch, titled Breaking Black. This is a action-packed finale, no cliff hanger and one seriously happy ending.

Ok.  Well, I’m a SAHM to 4 kids ages almost 7 to almost 2yrs of age!  Been married for 10 yrs on 10/30.  I love reading and struggle to find the time now that I’m writing!

  

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I always thought it would be super cool to be a romance writer.  I started with short stories and poetry.  About a year and a half ago I decided it was time to pursue it!

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

Yes, I have a love of drama and true love!  Don’t let your regrets hold you back and let love guide you.  I hope they get as consumed with the characters as I do!

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

The face that people can identify with some of the things my characters go through.  I want Prince Charming, but I want it to be believable too!

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

Well, I’m 90 lbs into a goal of losing 130lbs.  40 more to go!!!  Travel.  I want to travel!  And hope that my kids are inspired by my desire to do what I love.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spend time with my friends and my husband.  Shop and listen to music. 

What can you tell us about your latest works?

The Anchored Hearts series is half done.  I’m working on finishing it and then I have a new, exciting collaboration with Paul Blake.  We will be featured on the cover together and he’ll be the birdy in my ear in regards to the male MC.  The title is Convicted Heart and I’m hoping to release it in June 2015.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

Letting Go of Us will release in Dec, followed by Drifting Away and another one that will tell Paul Vincent’s story.

Wow!  Thank you!  It’s hard for me to wrap my brain around people in other countries reading my work!  It’s greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Mary Anne

Tell us a little about yourself.

First of all, I am thrilled to be here. Thank you for having me. Now on to me, I am an average person. I’ve been married for 33+ years to a practically perfect man. I’ve been writing most of my life. “Brilliant Disguise”, released in January this year, is the first book in The Charlie McClung Mysteries. The second book, “A Good Girl”, was released on September 23rd. A few of my short stories have been published in Christian magazines.

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

During my very early childhood, I remember my mother writing stories and such. So I followed in her footsteps. I started out writing poems, then short stories, and onto novels. In short, yes, I have always wanted to write. Thanks to my practically perfect husband encouragement and support, I’m writing fulltime now.



How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

Once my readers finish Brilliant Disguise, I hope they say, “I want to know what happens to Charlie and Marian”. I want my readers to find the story refreshing and the characters so believable they will say, “Hey, I know him or her. Or I wish they were my friends”.


What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

My fans’ enthusiasm toward Charlie and Marian has encouraged me to keep writing. At least once a week, someone asks me, “When is the next book coming out? I want to find out what’s going on with them.”


Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?
I want to complete The Detective Charlie McClung Mysteries. 

For now, I have ten books in the series. 

Another goal I have, is to revisit my very first manuscript, Useless Beauty. 

It is women’s fiction, a stand-alone novel. 

I can’t wait for my husband to retire so we can travel more, hopefully to New Zealand.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to read and watch mysteries. I enjoy traveling with my husband. And I do a little volunteer work at my church. I love to bake during the Christmas season. Of course, there Facebook and Pinterest that leads me astray.


What can you tell us about your latest works?

The second book in The Charlie McClung Mysteries, A Good Girl, was released on September 23rd. It picks up the story three months after Brilliant Disguise. Charlie and Marian go to Virginia to meet Charlie’s parents. Upon arrival, instead of his family waiting for him, there is a note telling Charlie to come to the family’s antique shop because a dead girl was found in an armoire delivered to the shop.
What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead? 

The third book, Criminal Kind, is due in April, 2015. It takes place on a cruise ship.



What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?

I think you are so very fortunate to live New Zealand. It is a beautiful country. It is on my bucket list of places to visit. And thank you to all of my fans worldwide for your interest in Detective Charlie McClung and Marian Selby. I hope you have enjoyed meeting them and continue with them on their journey together.

Excerpt From Brilliant Disguise

Marian saw three manila folders spread out on the coffee table and one picture to the side, the picture of the crescents. She plopped down, grabbing the picture. She handed it back to Charlie and rubbed away the goose bumps treading across her forearms. “That’s it. The same as my backyard.”

She fumbled with the small package of photos, spilling its contents onto the floor. She grabbed one of the many she had taken of the mud stains. Wide eyed, she compared it with the crime scene photo. “Look, Charlie, look it’s the same.”

He stared at the photos then looked at Marian. She was pale and trembling.

“Oh, God, the killer used my backyard to get to Dianne.” Marian’s breathing began to quicken.

Charlie took her hands. “Now, look at me.”

She focused on his face.

“Take some long deep breaths. Don’t want you to hyperventilate.” He began to breathe with her. “Good girl, slow and steady.” Reaching for the wine glass, he held it to her lips.

She drank it almost to the bottom in one gulp. Then she walked to the kitchen returning with the bottle of plum wine and poured more into her glass. “Would you like more?”

“No, I have to drive home.”

“No you don’t.”

Thrown off guard, Charlie stammered in disbelief, “What?”

Excerpt From Brilliant Disguise #2

The intruder turned on the hall light. A thin solid sliver of light burst underneath the bedroom door but was eclipsed by moving shadows as someone tried to open the door.

This is it. A surprising calm descended on Marian. It reminded her of when she had the lead in one of the Hometown Player productions. She was nervous to the point of fainting but once she stepped onto the stage all fear was gone. But this wasn’t make believe. This was to do or die. And she didn’t want to die.

She pulled open a dresser drawer to steady her hands as she aimed the 9mm belly high toward the door. Finger on the trigger, she was ready to kill. The .38 was next to her foot ready for back up.

The jiggling door knob became quiet. Next was the sound of someone trying to pick the lock. The knob twisted and the door eased open and then stopped with just a small slice of light cutting through the darken bedroom.

Marian heard panting on the other side. Then a huge shadow blocked the light that had spilled through the crack of the opened door. Suddenly the shadow was gone and light again flowed into the bedroom. Marian’s mind raced. Maybe they changed their mind. Maybe they went away. She began to relax when nothing happened. There were no sounds, no more shadows. All was at peace.

The door flew open as the intruder kicked it open. Bits of sheet rock flew into the air as the door knob smashed violently into the wall.

Time stood still as Marian stared at the black heaving silhouette. Its dark malevolent shape reminded her of an angry grizzly bear. She saw the intruder’s arm swing up. The outstretched hand was holding a gun. It swung side to side searching the room for its prey.

One of her mother’s odd quotes popped into her brain. You can’t run for a frog. It made sense finally. She couldn’t wait for a savior. She pulled the trigger twice. The first bullet hit the doorframe. Slivers of wood exploded into the air. Marian knew the second one struck its target. The inhuman figure snarled in pain. An agonizing scream hung in the air as the intruder staggered backward.


"A Good Girl"

For Charlie McClung, going home to Virginia with Marian was supposed to be a joyous occasion, but upon arrival at his childhood home, he’s met with a note instead of his family.

 “Don’t worry, Love, we’re all okay. Come to the shop. A dead girl was found in an armoire delivered just now. Huggies, Ma”

Charlie is quickly recruited to help solve the murder of a young girl who was on the path to become a nun. The suspects begin to mount as Charlie delves deep into the girl’s life, revealing a sordid and ugly side of the town’s good girl.
