Featured Interview With Sarah Robinson Author Of Sand & Clay And Tainted Bodies

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Sarah Robinson and I am the author of two books- Sand & Clay and Tainted Bodies which are both available on Amazon Kindle and paperback!  I have a Masters Degree in criminal psychology and have loved writing for over 15 years now.  I am married to a wonderful police officer and live in Northern Virginia with our zoo of dogs, kitties, and turtles.  I am new to the Indie scene and excited to get to know my fans on a more personal level!

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I started writing as an emotional outlet when I was a preteen, mostly poetry.  I then fell in love with it and wrote poetry for over a decade, being published multiple times and winning multiple competitions.  However, I began to branch out into prose and longer stories and started writing some short stories for a publisher for a little extra cash.  She suggested I think about writing a full length book and I decided to go for it- that’s how Sand & Clay came out!  It reached Amazons Hot 100 list in it’s first month.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

Sand & Clay is a light read, a cute love story, and so all I want is for people to feel those emotions.  I want them to feel anguish, love, heartache, and head over heels passion for the characters!  Tainted Bodies is a completely different story!  It’s a crime drama romance and it’s topic is quite touchy...it could upset a lot of people potentially but that’s why I wrote it.  It takes a very real look at a very prolific problem in our society and how a woman has to overcome that struggle and find her way back.  It will really become clearer and stronger when the second book comes out since the first book leaves a lot to still be revealed!

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

I got one really cruel review of Sand & Clay that really stuck with me because no one else seemed to have that same reaction.  I think that the reason it stuck with me was that it was a reminder that not everyone is going to like what I write...as much as I wish they would.  It also is a good lesson for people that the internet may seem anonymous but authors read your reviews and just bashing a book with no helpful critiques, well that is just not right in my opinion.

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

Just to be happy!  I want to be a good full time author one day but I also just want to live a happy life! I want to have kids, rescue more pets, give money and time to charities, make a family, fall in love with my husband every day, and never miss an opportunity to make a mistake!  I want to take life and squeeze every drop of love and excitement out of it and then teach my children to do the same.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love animals so I spend a lot of time working with rescue organizations, spending time with my pets, walking neighbour’s dogs, etc.  I also am obsessed with Ellen Degeneres and never miss her show every weekday!  I love spending time with my husband curled up on the couch watching the latest and greatest television shows.  Nothing out of the ordinary, just being your average girl!

What can you tell us about your latest works?

Sand & Clay:
Young New York socialite Caroline falls for a rock star bad boy Logan Clay, he's bad for her and she's bad for him (he has a fiancée after all).

Against all reason and sanity, they know they belong together, but how can they make it work when time and fate seem to be completely against them?

She was ready for love when he wasn't, but she moves on only to find that real love can't be replaced. Happy endings might not be for everyone...

Tainted Bodies:
Kate Jackson is listlessly floating through her life having no idea what or who she wants to be and burdened by the pains of her past. That is until she meets Derrick Kane.

A whirlwind romance leads Kate to believe that Derrick is the answer to all her questions and the patch to heal all her wounds.

Derrick and Kate’s love is quickly tested as a shocking crime forces Kate to have to figure out how to take care of herself and leads her into a mystery that only Kate has the key to solve.

Can she catch an extremely dangerous criminal and keep the love between Derrick and her alive? Find out the conclusion of this thrilling crime drama and contemporary romance in the following books of The Photographer Trilogy.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

I am currently working on the second book in The Photographer Trilogy which will follow up Tainted Bodies and answer a lot of holes in the first book.  It is full of drama and twists and turns!  It’s exciting! I can’t wait to release it!

What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?

Just thank you- thank you to everyone!  I’m not rich or famous and probably never will be, and a good review on Amazon is enough to make me float on a cloud all day!  I live a simple life in a small apartment and I barely make it paycheck to paycheck- which is why I love writing so much because the potential and dreams are exponential.  My fans make me what I am and they mean the world to me!  Thank you for your continued support!

Do you have any parting words?

In the words of Ellen Degeneres- be kind to others!
