Featured Interview With Ahren Sanders -Author Of The Surrender Series

We are lucky enough today to have Ahren Sanders with us today, so lets find out a little about her


Hi Ahren

Tell us a little about yourself.

I live in Northeast Florida with my husband and daughter. I spent most of my career working in Human Resources but decided I wanted to write my own fairy-tale romance. In my mind I created a fictional world of crazy friends and a deep, soul-capturing romance. Surrendering, book one in my Surrender Series, was released in November 2013. The sequel, Surviving was released in April 2014. I enjoy writing about strong women and over-protective, Alpha men. When I’m not working, I’m on the beach with a great book and my family trying to figure out the next great story.

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I was a serial reader first. I discovered the world of Contemporary Romance and could not get enough. I was reading 12 or more books a week and following a whole new group of authors. One day my story came to me and I decided to write it. I wasn’t sure if I would publish but eventually I got enough courage to do so.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

I hope they feel the emotions of the characters in the storyline. I am an emotional reader and writer and I think that comes through pretty well. I invest myself completely. Alpha males and strong heroines are my favourite so I try to look at my storyline and bring those qualities out.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

I always love to read a good review where someone identifies a specific part in the book that got to them. Also, when fans refer to my guys as their book boyfriends, I get gitty!

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

In my personal life, I want to be a great mom. I want to raise my kids to be well rounded, respectable, kind, and caring. I also love this community so I hope I can continue to gain friendships, offer advice, and help in any way.

Other than that- I hope to one day get over my fear of heights and snakes.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Read, go to the beach, a nice cocktail hour once in a while.

What can you tell us about your latest works?

Currently I am writing a standalone book. It is a second chance romance that focuses on lovers reuniting four years after being torn apart. The love story is strong and powerful and there’s a child involved.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

Reed’s Reckoning should be released late summer. Then I will be writing book three in the Surrender Series, which will focus on Robbie Hayes.

What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?

THANK YOU SO MUCH. The phrase doesn’t seen strong enough to me but it is the only thing I can think of. The support and kindness is overwhelming and heart-warming. I love writing and I hope my stories can entertain end provide enjoyment.
