Well we are lucky enough today to not only have Hilary with us, but it will be her first ever Interview so we have definitely popped her cherry
Tell us a little about yourself.
Well, I am 31 years old and I live in central Kansas but am from the beautiful state of Colorado. I have been married for three years this October to my boyfriend of 16 years, we have been together since I was fifteen years old and I love him to death. Um, I am not only an author, but a chef and I love to cook and currently work in a steakhouse. I hope to open a restaurant sometime in the near future, Italian cuisine. Yummy!
How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?
Writing sort of fell into the picture when a group of friends asked me to write a short story about an upcoming event in my life. A few months later, I was told by an editor that if I put a storyline to it, it would be an amazing book. So, here I am. I absolutely love writing Eoin and Lea's story, they are amazing characters and the fans seem to enjoy the concept of getting to have a relationship with a celeb crush, I mean, we all have one right?
Addition to question number 2...
Did I always want to write? Actually, no, I had always wanted to be a vulcanologist growing up to be honest. The cooking came along and stole my heart, cue writing, I now have two amazing jobs that I would never give up. After starting When Dreams Come to Life, I have every intention of continuing to write for as long as my fingers and eyes let me. Truly an amazing addition to my life.
How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?
I hope they feel all the emotions that are coming out of the book from the characters.
To be able to put themselves into the book and be Lea and have Eoin be whomever they wish. Also, I would love if they just fell in love with them, which so far, is definitely the case and I couldn't be happier about that.
What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?
I would have to say...how much they are loving the story of Eoin and Lea!!! Having never written anything before, it is quite a shock to see so many enjoy my words. It takes a lot of courage to put your words out there for the entire world to see and I have been given so much love and support from the fans, that words can't describe how I feel. My first book was dedicated to the ladies that pushed me to never give up and finish. I would have never have gotten this far without them.
Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?
As I had said, I hope to soon open my own Italian restaurant. It has been a goal for 8 years now, just need some more experience and time to reach said goal. I also would like to continue writing more novels, I have a few ideas spinning around for the end of The Dream Series.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time... Well, if I am not writing. I enjoy watching great movies, talking/hanging with friends, hanging out with my awesome husband on his day/s off (He works A LOT). Obviously, I enjoy reading but I find it hard to settle down with a good book while writing my own. So I do most of my reading on my break after I finish one of my books.
I am currently working on Living the Dream, book two of The Dream Series. It is due out in November and I am so excited to get it finished and out to all of my great fans and friends. Things definitely are a bit 'WOW' in book two, going to throw the fans off I think but in a good way. Tears? Yes, but both tears of happy and sadness.
What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?
Book three, Reality of the Dream, is coming soon. Haven't started it yet but have many ideas written down. After Eoin and Lea... We shall let time tell but I do plan to do another novel series.
What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?
THANK YOU!!!! From the bottom of my heart for the love and support! I do hope you are ready for the next chapter of Eoin and Lea's journey, it is going to knock your socks off! Love you all of you around this big beautiful planet we call home! xoxoxo
Do you have any parting words?
This is always a fun one, *giggle* Um, I want to thank Trina's Tantilising Tidbit's for this amazing chance to be interviewed for the first time. Interview cherry popped, CHECK haa!! I look forward to getting The Dream Series out to all of you and most of all... Continue to promote what you love and never bash what you hate, words to live by, both as an author and an avid book junky. Moochies xoxo
