We are lucky enough today to have Author Joanne Schwehm with us, so let's get to know her a little better.
Hi Joanne
Hi Joanne
Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been married for twenty years to my best friend and
the best man I could ever dream of and we have two wonderful sons. I grew up in
Rochester , NY
and currently live in Northern Virginia .
How did you
become a writer, and did you always want to write?
I have always loved writing, but I just never dreamed of
sharing it with anyone; my husband didn’t even know that I wrote my first
novel, Unexpected Chance, until I was ready to send it to my editor. I call
myself a “story hoarder”! When I was younger, I would write stories and tuck
them away in a drawer. Now I just have them on my computer. (I totally aged
myself with my answer! J )
This is a tricky question. Naturally, I would want readers
to “feel” them and to love them, but everyone is different. If I can touch someone
or take them away from “reality” for a bit, then I am happy.
What responses
to your writing have affected you the most and why?
I think the comments I have received from those that have
read The Chance Series. When I receive a message or read a review stating that
someone really loved my characters and their stories, makes me feel like the
sacrifices I have made have been worth it.
Other than
writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?
My main goal is to be the best mom, wife and person I can
be.
What do you like
to do in your spare time?
I love spend time with my family. We love watching sports
and playing golf. I love to travel, especially if it is somewhere tropical! And
of course I love reading all things romance!
What can you
tell us about your latest works?
Unexpected Chance, book one in the Chance Series was my
debut novel. I had a dream about Alex Logan and Aubrey Ryan and as soon as I
woke up, I started writing and then completed the series when I wrote and
published, My Chance. The Chance Series is pure romance with a little twist. I
love Alex Logan…he is yummy! ;)
“Ryker” is a standalone novel and will be released this
summer. He is a badass drummer who suffered a tragedy when he was young and has
left him feeling alone and unworthy of love. However, Faith Bishop starts to
change the way he looks at things.
What stories
can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?
I have two other books started that will hopefully be
released later this year. One is more “erotic” than my others and the other is
a holiday novella.
What would you
like to say to your fans in New
Zealand and others worldwide?
First, the thought of having fans in New Zealand and
other countries just blows my mind! Having fans in anywhere blows my mind. I
would like to say “Thank you for reading! Not just my books, but all romance
books. There are so many great stories and authors out there and to be a part
of the writing community is a dream come true and I have the fans to thank for
that.
Do you have any
parting words?
I would like to say thank you to you for this interview and
for supporting authors. The support that is shown is so appreciated and does
not go unnoticed. To all the readers, keep in touch! I love to hear from you
and I love when you post reviews. It is important to me to know what you think!
xoxo <3
