Featured Interview With Kristen Hope Mazzola - Author Of Crashing Back Down

We have Kristen Hope Mazzola here with us today being Interviewed by me, so let us find out about what makes her tick.

Hi Kristen

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am just an average twenty-something following my dreams. I have a full time "day job" and by night I am author. I guess you could say that writing is like my super power (I always wanted one of those). I am the lover of wine, sushi, football and the ocean; that is when I am not wrapped up in the literary world.

How did you become a writer, and did you always want to write?

I started off writing poetry when I was ten. For years I used writing to express my emotions but kept it mainly to myself. A little over a year ago, writing took on a new form for me. I started writing short stories that soon became the novel, Crashing Back Down. So I guess I became a writer by mistake and it is the best one I have ever made. I have always wanted to be an author, I just thought it was an unobtainable goal until now.

How do you hope your readers react to the stories you write?

I obviously hope that they love them! But I display many dark themes and emotions in my writing, so I know that it is not everyone’s cup of tea.

What responses to your writing have affected you the most and why?

Whenever people email me and say that they took a chance on a newbie indie that they had never heard of and were blown away. Those are the moments that make me want to keep going. I don’t pay too much mind to back reviews, I learn from the constructive ones and pay no mind to the mean ones...I know that not everyone is going to have the same taste as me.

Other than writing great stories, what other goals do you have for your life?

Well, I also help my father run a company, which someday I will take over. So I think my main goal in life is going to be balancing my two careers so I can be as success at both as humanly possible. Also, add in a family into that mix and I will be a happy camper. Oh and going to Costa Rica and catching a Black Marlin would be awesome!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I really don’t have a lot of it. But when I do, I go to the gym, read and try to get down to The Florida Keys to relax in the sun on my boyfriend’s flats boat.

What can you tell us about your latest works?

Right now I am getting ready to publish my second book in my Crashing series: Falling Back Together. The first book, Crashing Back Down was released in November of 2013 and is about a war widow trying to find her place in the world after her husband dies in an accident overseas.

What stories can your fans expect from you in the days ahead?

Well Falling Back Together and I am working on about six more WIPs. One that will definitely be released within the year is The Hysterics.

What would you like to say to your fans in New Zealand and others worldwide?

Thanks you for supporting a new author and giving me a chance! I cannot even put into words how much that means to me!

Do you have any parting words?

Thank you to Trina’s Tantilising Tidbits for allowing me to do this interview! I hope we can do again sometime farther down that road! Have a wonderful day everyone and happy reading!
